How we bill.
Services like scaling (removal of tartar) and polishing are billed based on how long time takes to perform a task. 1 unit of time = 15 minutes, 1/2 unit of time = 7.5 (or less) minutes. Other services (like fluoride treatments) are billed per application. It typically takes anywhere between 2-3 units of scaling to complete an adult dental cleaning. Rule of thumb, if it's been a while since your last visit, your cleaning may take a little longer at that initial visit!
